Tomasz Gradek · DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer

Infrastructure that stays boring in production.

I’m a DevOps engineer, and these days that mostly means real servers in real racks. Linux, Windows, Proxmox, the network that ties them together, and enough monitoring to know when something is off. Cloud too, when it actually makes sense.

What I work on

  • Linux and virtualisation

Linux and Windows servers built the same way every time, so rebuilding one is boring instead of scary.

  • Automation and delivery

If I’ve done something twice by hand, it ends up in Ansible or a pipeline, usually with a check that stops the third attempt from going wrong.

  • Monitoring and backups

Alerts that say what’s actually wrong, and backups I’ve restored at least once. An untested backup is just a hope.

  • Networks and security

Office networks, VPNs and tunnels between sites, plus security reviews that end in a short, sorted to-do list rather than a scary PDF.

Selected work

A few things I can talk about publicly. The details are simplified on purpose.

A small fleet managed entirely as code

My own servers, all managed with Ansible and set up so that one typo can only ever break one machine.

About

I’ve worked in infrastructure since 2022, but I’ve been breaking and fixing servers for much longer. It started with game servers back in 2009. I live in Poland and work remotely, in English or Polish.
